How long do composite veneers last?

Composite veneers last 5 to 8 years on average, depending directly on personal care, oral hygiene and regular polishing.

Are composite veneers painful?

No. The procedure is painless and in most cases doesn’t even need a local anaesthetic, because the teeth are usually not drilled.

Do composite veneers damage natural teeth?

No. One of the biggest advantages of composite is that it is conservative: it usually needs no drilling and doesn’t harm the natural enamel.

Porcelain or composite veneers — which is better?

If long life (about 10 to 15 years) and stain resistance matter most to you, porcelain veneers are the better choice. If a quick single-visit treatment, reversibility and lower cost come first, composite veneers suit you better. The final choice is made after an examination, based on the condition of your teeth.

Who is not a candidate for porcelain veneers?

People with active decay or gum disease, those whose teeth are weakened by decay, fractures or large fillings, and people without enough enamel on the tooth surface are usually not good candidates for veneers.
